Join live translation
How a guest joins live translation with a link, QR code, or desktop code: no account, no install.
Most people meet JotMe as a guest: someone sends a link, they open it, and they read the meeting or event in their language. Nothing is installed and no account is created.

We'll email you both the meeting notes and translated transcript when the meeting ends.
Join Live TranslationPowered by JotMe
From a link#
Open the link
The link works in any browser, on a phone or a laptop. Opened before the host starts, it waits: "The link becomes live when the host starts the meeting."
Say who you are and what you speak
Enter an email, then choose the spoken language of the meeting or event and the translation language you want to read.
Join
Read the session live as it is transcribed and translated.
From a QR code#
The host may display a QR code on a presentation screen, monitor, slide, sign, or printed card. It opens the same browser experience as the shared link.
Scan the QR code
Open the camera on your phone or tablet, point it at the QR code, and tap the link that appears.
Choose your languages
Enter your email, choose the language being spoken, and choose the translation language you want to read or hear.
Join in the browser
Join the live session without installing JotMe or creating an account. If the host has not started yet, keep the waiting page open.
If the QR code will not scan, ask the host for the browser URL. Hosts can follow Share with a QR code to create and display it.
From a code#
If you already have JotMe Desktop, open Share Live Translation, choose With Code, and enter the code from the invitation instead of using the browser link.
Hearing it instead of reading it#
Voice translation can be enabled for participants, so a guest hears the meeting or event spoken in their language rather than watching text scroll: useful on a phone, or when you cannot keep your eyes on a screen.
What a guest can and cannot do#
- Can: read the live session in their own language, and hear it when voice translation is on.
- Cannot: host, record, or spend anything. The session runs entirely on the host's minutes.
Afterwards#
Access ends when the host stops the session. If they share the notes afterwards, that is a separate link. See Shared notes and transcripts.
For the host workflow, see Share with a URL or Share with a QR code.
If it will not let you in#
- The page says the session has not started. The link goes live when the host starts the meeting. Leave it open; it does not need reloading every minute.
- The link or QR code does nothing. Invitations expire. Ask the host to send a current link or display a current QR code. Both open the same participant page.
- You cannot hear anything. Voice for guests has to be switched on by the host; otherwise the session is text. Ask them to enable it.
- The wrong language. Choose the spoken language of the meeting or event and your reading language separately when you join, and rejoin if you picked the wrong pair.
- A language is missing from the list. The host can limit which languages participants may choose to keep the session fast. If you need one that is not offered, ask the host to allow it.
Nothing here costs you anything: guests spend none of their own minutes, and need no account.
