Recordings
Find and manage saved live sessions and uploaded audio or video.
Recordings is the library for sessions and files saved in JotMe. It brings live sessions, uploaded videos, and uploaded audio into one searchable list. Open an item to revisit its audio or video, transcript, and notes.

Find a recording#
Use the controls across the top of the library:
- All, Live, Video, or Audio filters by recording type.
- Any shows your recordings and recordings shared with you; Shared with me shows only shared items.
- Search recordings finds a title or transcript content.
- The two date fields limit results to a date range.
Recordings are grouped by date. Each row shows its title, owner, duration, time, and type. Select a row to open the saved recording.
Transcribe an audio or video file#
Select Transcribe file in the top-right corner of Recordings. Add one audio or video file, choose the output languages, review the required minutes, and confirm. The completed file returns to this library as an Audio or Video recording.
See Transcription for the complete upload workflow and supported-language coverage.
Select and delete recordings#
Choose Select to enter selection mode, select the recordings you own, then choose Delete selected. You can also delete one owned recording from its row.
Heads up
Deletion cannot be undone. Deleting recordings also requires a paid plan; Freemium shows an upgrade prompt instead.
Audio recordings#
Every live desktop session includes an audio recording alongside its transcript and notes. When a session ends, the audio uploads in the background while the saved item appears in Recordings.
If the upload fails, the transcript and notes remain and JotMe offers Retry Upload. Keep JotMe open until the upload finishes. The app also asks you to wait about five seconds before stopping so the tail of the audio is captured.
The audio upload accepts files up to 500 MB. Duration depends on the recording format and bitrate, not a fixed number of minutes.
Note
The Chrome extension reads Google Meet captions and does not record audio. Use the desktop app when you need the audio recording itself.
Sharing#
Open a recording to share its notes, transcript, or access link. A live session can also create a group chat with everyone who joined if that option is enabled before the session ends.
Access limits#
Your plan determines how many previous recordings you can access:
- Free: the 5 most recent recordings
- Pro: the 20 most recent recordings
- Premium: unlimited recordings
Recordings beyond your plan's access limit are not deleted. JotMe keeps them and prompts you to upgrade when you try to access them.
